Overview

yeety is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data and encrypt your notes at rest.

What we collect

Note content: Encrypted at rest using AES-GCM encryption. We cannot read your notes.
IP addresses: Temporarily logged for rate limiting and abuse prevention. Not stored long-term.
Usage analytics: We may collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the service.

What we don't collect

Personal information (unless you create an account for Pro features)
Cookies for tracking or advertising
Third-party analytics that identify you

Data storage

Your notes are stored on servers in the European Union. Free tier notes are automatically deleted 30 days after the share expires. Pro users can access their notes indefinitely.

Data encryption

All note content is encrypted using AES-256-GCM before storage. The encryption key is stored separately from the data. This means even if our database were compromised, your notes would remain unreadable.

Share codes

Share codes are randomly generated and not linked to any personal identifier. Anyone with the code can access the note until it expires. Treat share codes like passwords.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies:

Authentication cookie: Used to remember your pre-launch access (temporary)
Session cookie: Used for Pro user authentication (future feature)

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
